Welcome to Wychwood Farm,

This farm has been in our family for three generations. Three years ago, the family came across old photos of Norfolk Horns grazing on the Estate and decided to reintroduce the magnificent sheep back onto the Parkland. Norfolk Horns are one of the rarest breeds and there only some 2,000 in existence. We have built it up to be one of the biggest flocks of 250 sheep.

Norfolk is famously known for its gorgeous coastline and Cromer crab, but DID YOU KNOW that Norfolk owes a lot of its wealth to the wool trade between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries. At the time the trade became the backbone of medieval English economy and was described as the “jewel of the realm.” Norfolk was attributed to have supplied a large portion of the wool.

The Norfolk Horn is one of the oldest breeds of sheep in Britain.

We want to keep this heritage of Norfolk alive and you are welcome to come visit us and see our award-winning sheep.

& Caitlin

Caitlin joined us in May 2018. She has extensive experience in all aspects of sheep husbandry. In addition to her work with us Caitlin rears her own flock of sheep. She runs her own team of working sheepdogs, as well as breeding and training them for others. Her trusty team of sheep dogs manage to keep our flock of Norfolk Horns in check.
